Job Title: Patient Entry Department Specialist 

Reports to: Patient Navigation Manager and Director of Patient Navigation 

Position Overview:

The Patient Navigator role is extremely vital within the CoreLife family. The Patient Navigator provides an overview and education to referred patients about the services and programs that CoreLife offers. In the initial outreach to potential CoreLife patients, you will be providing information on our program, assisting new patients with the insurance verification process, and answering any questions they may have about CoreLife and their patient experience. You are the first point of contact that any prospective patient will have with CoreLife. Your attitude, tone of voice, and overall demeanor are vital to the success of our prospective patients.

Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective patients. 
  • Upon contacting a prospective patient, probe to understand patient needs and have the ability to identify opportunities to pair those needs with CoreLife services.
  • Schedule prospective patients with appropriate offices based on their location/needs. 
  • Handing many inbound and outbound calls to and from patients.
  • Verify all new patients' insurance coverage, including eligibility, coverage, authorization, and referrals.
  • Assist in educating patients on their benefits information.
  • Ensure all demographic, insurance and other applicable information is entered accurately into the patient’s profile.
  • Engage and motivate prospective patients to complete their initial appointment and begin their journey in the CoreLife program.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required) 
  •  Associate Degree (preferred)
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience (preferred)

  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish productive working relationships with multidisciplinary teams and support services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form to patients.
  • Ability to counsel and motivate others, as individuals and as a group.
  • General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, spreadsheets, and professional presentation software.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in medical protocols and policy.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional customer service contact center environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

Physical Demands:

An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires occasionally lifting office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.
