Position Summary:
The Maryland Director of Medical Services plays a pivotal leadership role in ensuring the clinical excellence of our Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across all Maryland markets. As part of the CoreLife leadership team, this role is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care, promoting a culture of professionalism, supporting APPs, and driving clinical innovation in the treatment of obesity and related conditions.
This position will report to the Chief Clinical Officer and work closely with CoreLife’s leadership, including the Market President, Medical Director, and Directors of Nutrition, Behavioral Health, Fitness, Operations, and Healthcare Relations.
Key Responsibilities:
🩺 Clinical & Administrative Leadership
Provide direct oversight and leadership to all Maryland APPs.
Monitor and support clinical care delivery and provider performance.
Conduct quarterly evaluations and annual performance reviews in partnership with clinic office managers.
Mentor APPs and foster a culture of positivity and professionalism.
🤝 Team Development & Support
Identify and manage “Lead APPs” in each region to ensure local support.
Lead interviewing, onboarding, and training efforts for new providers.
Collaborate with HR and credentialing teams for seamless provider onboarding.
📚 Training & Quality Assurance
Coordinate new hire orientation and ongoing provider education.
Partner with the Implementation and Training Team to identify improvement areas and retraining needs.
Maintain current knowledge in obesity medicine and ensure evidence-based practices are consistently followed.
🧩 Strategic Collaboration
Align regional medical services with market goals and CoreLife initiatives.
Participate in pilots of new policies and procedures before regional implementation.
Provide or arrange clinical coverage as needed to minimize service disruptions.
📆 Workload Expectations
Approximately 50% clinical (20 hours/week) and 50% administrative responsibilities (20 hours/week), subject to organizational needs.
Qualifications:
Licensed and credentialed Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner).
Proven experience in medical leadership and managing clinical teams.
Passion for integrated care, chronic disease prevention, and patient-centered outcomes.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and mentorship skills.
